Suggested Personal Items for Roamers

In April, August, and September, the mountain weather is cool, around 15–20°C. From October to March (winter), it can get very cold with possible frost or snow. Below are recommendations for clothing and personal items to bring.

I. Clothing

1. Clothes

  • Color tip: Choose bright/warm colors (yellow, red, etc.) for better visibility and easier location if you get lost or need assistance.

  • Suggested quantity:

    • Pants: 2–3 pairs

    • Tops: 5 pieces (including 1 windbreaker, 2 t-shirts, 1 fleece/thermal top, 1 thick jacket)

    • Sleepwear: 1 set

⚠️ Note: All clothing should be long-sleeved to protect against insects, scratches, and minor injuries. Pants should be lightweight, quick-dry, flexible, and stretchable.

2. Shoes
Choose trekking-specific shoes with the following features:

  • High-ankle support

  • Waterproof

  • Insulated/with thermal lining

  • Deep-treaded soles for grip

  • Thick and cushioned soles

  • 1 size larger than your normal size (to prevent toe pain on descents)

3. Socks

  • Choose thick, high-ankle hiking socks

  • Bring 3–5 pairs for one trip

II. Personal Items

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, and face towel

  • Sanitary pads: can be used as foot padding to reduce sweat, friction, and protect your feet from blisters (not just for women)
