Notes

Suggested Personal Items for Roamers

During April, August, and September, the mountain weather is cool at around 15–20°C. From October to March, it’s wintertime, very cold, and may even have snow or ice. Below are suggested clothing and personal items to bring:

I. Clothing

1. Clothes

  • Colors: It’s recommended to choose bright/warm colors such as yellow or red. These make you more visible and easier to spot, especially useful if you get lost or need assistance.

  • Suggested quantity:

    • Pants: 2–3 pairs

    • Tops: 5 pieces, including:
      ▸ 1 windbreaker
      ▸ 2 T-shirts
      ▸ 1 fleece/thermal shirt
      ▸ 1 thick jacket

    • Sleepwear: 1 set

Note: All clothing should be long-sleeved/long-legged to protect against insects, scratches, and injuries. For pants, choose quick-dry, flexible, and stretchy materials.

2. Shoes

  • Choose trekking/hiking shoes with the following features:

    • High-ankle support

    • Waterproof

    • Insulated (for warmth)

    • Lugged outsole for grip

    • Thick, soft sole

    • One size larger than your usual to avoid toe collision during trekking

3. Socks

  • Thick, high-ankle hiking socks
  • Quantity: 3–5 pairs per trip

II. Personal Items

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, and face towel
  • Sanitary pads (not only for hygiene but also very useful for foot pain relief, absorbing sweat, reducing friction, and protecting your feet)
  • Sunscreen (UV levels are high at mountain peaks and can damage skin)
  • Power bank
  • Mobile phone, selfie stick, or camera accessories
