Notes

Suggested Personal Items for Roamers

In April, August, and September, the mountain weather is pleasantly cool, around 15–20°C. From October to March, it is wintertime, which can be very cold and may even have frost or snow. Below are recommendations for clothing and personal items to prepare for your trekking journey.

I. Clothing

1. Clothes

  • Colors: We recommend choosing bright, warm colors such as yellow or red. These not only make you stand out in photos but are also very useful in case of emergencies (e.g., getting lost or needing assistance).
  • Suggested quantity:
    • Pants: 2–3 pairs

    • Tops: 5 pieces, including: 1 windbreaker, 2 T-shirts, 1 fleece/thermal shirt, and 1 thick jacket

    • Sleepwear: 1 set

Note: All clothing should be long-sleeved and long-legged to protect against insects, scratches, and minor injuries. Pants should be made of quick-dry, flexible, and stretchable fabric for easy movement.

2. Shoes

Choose trekking shoes that meet the following requirements:

  • High-ankle design
  • Waterproof
  • Insulating layer for warmth
  • Anti-slip sole with strong grip
  • Thick and cushioned sole
  • One size larger than your normal size to avoid toe injuries during long treks

3. Socks

  • Bring thick, high-ankle trekking socks
  • Recommended quantity: 3–5 pairs for the whole trip

II. Personal Items

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, and face towel
  • Sanitary pads (useful not only for personal hygiene but also to prevent foot blisters, absorb sweat, and provide cushioning for your feet)
  • Sunscreen (UV rays at high altitude can be strong and harmful to your skin)
  • Power bank
  • Mobile phone, selfie stick/tripod, or camera

A first trekking experience beyond expectations!
“I had never hiked a mountain before, so I was worried about my stamina. But Roam’s itinerary was well-paced with plenty of rest time, and the team was incredibly supportive. Sleeping overnight on Mount Muoi and waking up in a sea of clouds was truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment. I pushed past my limits and still felt safe and happy.”

Duc Anh, 30, Designer

Every step was picture-perfect – no regrets joining!
“The Bach Moc trail is stunning — bamboo forests, ancient woods, and the iconic ‘dinosaur backbone’ ridge. My camera never got a break! But the best part was how well-organized everything was: meals, rest, and health care. Imagine having hotpot and afternoon tea in the mountains — such a ‘worthwhile experience’!”

Thao Vy, 25, Freelancer

Sleeping in the mountains – waking up to an ocean of clouds
“Spending the night deep in the forest and waking up surrounded by floating clouds, birdsong, and the smell of hot tea… that’s something I’ll never forget. It was a journey to slow down, breathe, and truly feel alive. Thank you Roam for organizing such an emotional adventure.”

Traveling solo but never alone – always someone by my side
“I booked this tour alone, just to get away after a stressful time. But from the moment I got on the bus, I always had company and support. Roam’s guides were friendly, the group was fun — we became like a small family. This was more than just a trip, it was a healing journey.”
