Itinerary
- 06:00: Roam guide picks up Roamers at 36 Nguyễn Hoàng, Mỹ Đình, Hanoi.
- 06:15: Vehicle departs. (Please be on time to ensure the group schedule. If you arrive after 06:40, please make your own way to the next rest stop to join the group.)
- 07:00: Stop at the final rest area on Đại Lộ Thăng Long for a short break and breakfast. (Breakfast is on your own.)
- 08:40: Arrive at Vịnh Cảng to collect safety gear, then board the boat to the hiking start point.
- 09:00: Arrive at the hiking start point and warm up for the trek.
Begin trekking through the Mường village.
- 09:15: Begin trekking through the Mường village. Along the way, you’ll see traditional stilt houses and the peaceful local life. The journey continues through the forest to Long Cốc Cave, a hidden gem formed over millions of years and newly explored by the Roam team in 2024. From the cave entrance, you’ll get a stunning, picturesque view of Dragon’s Eye Lake below and the distant Đà Giang River.
Caving: Explore Địa Long Cave & Long Cốc Cave
- 10:30: Arrive at Địa Long Cave entrance and begin exploration. This mysterious cave sits right beside the trekking route but is easy to miss.
- 11:30: Arrive at Long Cốc Cave entrance for lunch. Eat at the cave mouth with a panoramic view overlooking Dragon’s Eye Lake and the Đà Giang River — a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
- 13:00: Continue exploring Long Cốc Cave — the cave floor features rounded, gem-like formations and fossilized shells encased in limestone (typical karst features).
View Dragon’s Eye from the Stone Tree
- 13:30: Continue trekking through the forest to the “Stone Tree.” The tree stands tall on a vertical cliff. From this high viewpoint, you’ll admire a panoramic view of Dragon’s Eye Lake and its breathtaking emerald waters.
Explore Dragon’s Eye Lake & Swim
- 14:30 — Hike through the forest to reach Dragon’s Eye Lake, hidden deep in a secluded valley, cut off from the outside world. The stunning scene recalls the cinematic beauty of Tuyệt Tình Cốc from classic Chinese martial arts films.
- The lake stays crystal-clear year-round, shimmering in a vibrant emerald-blue that invites you to dive in.
- No worries if you can’t swim — Roam provides life vests so everyone can safely enjoy the refreshing waters.
- A private changing tent is available by the lake. Just bring your swimwear and a change of clothes to freshen up after your swim.
Back to Hotel — Dinner & Group Gathering
- 17:00 — Return for dinner.
- 19:30 — Transfer to the hotel, check in, and relax while bonding with fellow Roamers.
- 22:30 — Rest and recharge for Day 2’s adventure.

Additionally, Roam provides basic medical kits, available for cases such as minor injuries, fever, or stomach issues.
Notes
- The tour will depart with a minimum of 6 participants.
(If the minimum is not met, Roam Travel will notify you at least 3 days in advance. Guests can reschedule or receive a deposit refund.) - Children aged 3 – 7: ride on the back seat with parents.
- Children 8+ years old: must be able to ride a bike confidently to join the cycling activity. Otherwise, they may stay at the homestay on Day 2.
- The program consists mainly of outdoor activities and is subject to weather conditions. Activities may be reduced or canceled if necessary.
- Guests must follow the guide’s instructions for safety.
- Please be on time according to the itinerary. If late, you will need to join the group at the next stop.
