Itinerary
- 06:00 — Roam guide picks up Roamers at 36 Nguyễn Hoàng, Mỹ Đình, Hanoi.
06:15 — Vehicle departs.
(Please be on time to keep the schedule. If you arrive after 06:40, please make your own way to the next rest stop to join the group.) - 07:00 — Stop at the final rest area on Đại Lộ Thăng Long for a short break and breakfast.
(Breakfast is on your own.) - 08:40 — Arrive at Vịnh Cảng to collect safety gear, then board the boat to the hiking start point.
- 09:00 — Arrive at the hiking start point and warm up for the trek.
Trek through an ancient Mường village
- 09:15 — Trek through an ancient Mường village. Experience local stilt houses and everyday life, then continue through primary forest toward Long Cốc Cave — a karst cave formed over millions of years and first explored by Roam’s team in 2024. From the cave entrance you’ll get views down to Dragon’s Eye Lake and the distant Đà Giang River.
Caving: Explore Địa Long Cave & Long Cốc Cave
- 10:30 — Arrive at Địa Long Cave entrance and begin exploration. This mysterious cave sits right beside the trekking route but is easy to miss.
- 11:30 — Arrive at Long Cốc Cave entrance for lunch. Eat at the cave mouth with a panoramic view overlooking Dragon’s Eye Lake and the Đà Giang River — perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery.
- 13:00 — Continue exploring Long Cốc Cave — the cave floor features rounded, gem-like formations and fossilized shells encased in limestone (typical karst features).
View Dragon’s Eye from the Stone Tree
- 13:30 — Trek through the forest to the “Stone Tree” viewpoint — a lone tree rooted on a vertical cliff. From here you’ll admire a bird’s-eye view of Dragon’s Eye Lake and its stunning emerald waters.
Explore Dragon’s Eye Lake & swim
- 14:30 — Hike down to Dragon’s Eye Lake, tucked in a secluded valley — a scene often compared to the cinematic “Tuyệt Tình Cốc.”
- The lake is crystal-clear year-round, with an emerald-blue hue.
- Don’t worry if you’re not a strong swimmer — Roam provides life vests so everyone can enjoy the water safely.
- There’s a changing tent on site — bring swimwear and a change of clothes.

Note: All basic equipment is provided by Roam — just bring your personal items (change of clothes, swimwear, personal medication) and your adventurous spirit!
Notes
- Departure: The tour runs with a minimum of 6 Roamers. If the minimum is not met, Roam Travel will notify guests at least 3 days before departure. Guests may reschedule or receive a refund of their deposit.
- Age requirement: Participants aged 4 and above are welcome.
- Weather dependency: This is an outdoor program and strongly weather-dependent. Roam reserves the right to reduce or modify activities if conditions are unsafe.
- Safety & compliance: Please follow all instructions from the guide to ensure the safety of yourself and the group.
- Punctuality: Please arrive on time as per the itinerary. If you are late, you will need to make your own way to the next meeting point to join the group.
